Rather predictable result when seventh ranked La Spezia (5-6) defeated on the road 11th ranked Priolo (2-8) 88-71. Priolo was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. La Spezia dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Priolo's 26. They outrebounded Priolo 32-17 including 20 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for American center Marie Malone (191-89, college: Hofstra, agency: Two Points) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Latvian power forward Lauma Reke (185-86, college: St.Peter's) contributed with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Four La Spezia players scored in double figures. Serbian guard Marija Eric (164-83) replied with 25 points and 4 assists and point guard Ilaria Milazzo (167-94) added 20 points in the effort for Priolo. Newly promoted La Spezia maintains seventh position with 5-6 record. Priolo lost third consecutive game. They keep the eleventh place with eight games lost. La Spezia's next round opponent will be San Martino (#10) in San Martino di L. Priolo will play on the road against Venezia and hope to win that game.
