Regular Season Round 13: Ramat Hasharon - Maccabi Hasharon 79-74

Very expected game when 14th ranked Hod Hasharon (1-12) was defeated on the road by seventh ranked Ramat Hasharon (7-6) 79-74 on Tuesday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 19-15. But Hod Hasharon won second period 20-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Ramat Hasharon won last quarter 23-19. They made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. American center Kenny Lawson (206-88, college: Creighton) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds for the winners and forward Ofir Farchi (187-86) chipped in 17 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists (made all of his seven free throws). At the losing side American power forward Louis Johnson (206-86, college: W.Illinois) responded with 17 points and 9 rebounds and the other American import guard Anthony Fisher (191-86) scored 17 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Hod Hasharon players scored in double figures. Ramat Hasharon moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Hapoel Migd.H. Hod Hasharon lost fifth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 12 games lost. Ramat Hasharon will meet at home higher ranked Kiryat Tivon (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Hod Hasharon will play against Elitzur Ramla (#13) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
