Very expected game in Hangzhou where 8th ranked Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank (11-11) was edged by first ranked Guandong Tigers (19-3) 103-102 on Wednesday. Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank was trailing by 3 points at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 25-22 charge of Guandong Tigers, which allowed them to win the game. Guandong Tigers outrebounded Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank 43-30 including a 35-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 18 long-distance shots on high 56.3 percentage. Guandong Tigers looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. International Jianlian Yi (212-87) fired a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. American guard Khalif Wyatt (193-91, college: Temple) chipped in 19 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. American guard Dewarick Spencer (193-82, college: Arkansas St., agency: Higher Vision Sports) produced 25 points and 6 rebounds and the former international Fei Cao (193-91) added 17 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals respectively for lost side. Five Guandong Tigers and four Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank players scored in double figures. Guandong Tigers have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 19-3 record. Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth place with 11 games lost. Guandong Tigers will face TianJin Steel (#6) in Tianjin in the next round where they are favorite. Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank will play at home against DongGuan Leopards and hope to win that game.
