Not a big story in a game when 18th ranked Qingdao Eagles (3-19) were outplayed on the road by fifth ranked Shanghai Sharks (15-7) 114-95 on Wednesday. The game without a history. Shanghai Sharks led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 76 of its points in the paint compared to Qingdao Eagles' 48 and made 26-of-34 free shots (76.5 percent) during the game, while Qingdao Eagles only scored eight points from the stripe. They outrebounded Qingdao Eagles 56-38 including a 38-27 advantage in defensive rebounds. Qingdao Eagles were plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. American Darnell Jackson (203-85, college: Kansas) fired a double-double by scoring 28 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. The other American import guard Quincy Douby (190-84, college: Rutgers) chipped in 33 points (!!!) and 7 steals. Nigerian-American point guard Josh-Emmanuel Akognon (180-86, college: CS Fullerton) produced 37 points (!!!) and Palestinian center Sani Sakakini (204-88) added 10 points and 14 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four Shanghai Sharks and five Qingdao Eagles players scored in double figures. Shanghai Sharks have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place. Qingdao Eagles lost eighth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 19 lost games. Shanghai Sharks will face Jiangsu Dragons (#12) in Nanjing in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Qingdao Eagles will play at home against the league's second-placed Xinjiang Flying Tige (#2) and hope to win that game.
