TianJin Steel (13-9) survived in overtime against Zhejiang Guangsha Lions (13-9) by five points 143-138 on Wednesday night. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Zhejiang Guangsha Lions. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Zhejiang Guangsha Lions won third quarter 36-24. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening, at least not yet. The game turned upside-down in the last quarter, where Zhejiang Guangsha Lions used huge pressure winning it 30-22 getting a tie at the end of regular time. They lost eventually overtime period 14-19. TianJin Steel made 33-of-41 free shots (80.5 percent) during the game. TianJin Steel outrebounded Zhejiang Guangsha Lions 54-39 including a 39-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions were plagued by 37 personal fouls down the stretch. The game was dominated by American players. Forward Shelden Williams (206-83, college: Duke) fired a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 15 rebounds for the winners. point guard Sebastian Telfair (183-85) chipped in a double-double by scoring 26 points, 5 rebounds and 14 assists. point guard Jonathan Gibson (188-87, college: N.Mexico St., agency: Three Eye Sports) produced 46 points (!!!), 5 assists and 4 steals and center Chris Johnson (210-85, college: LSU) added 32 points and 16 rebounds respectively for lost side. Five TianJin Steel and four Zhejiang Guangsha Lions players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. TianJin Steel have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Guangsha L. TianJin Steel will face league's leader Guandong Tigers in Dongguan in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
