Regular Season Round 22: Fujian QB - Jiangsu D. 121-109

There was no surprise in Jinjiang where 12th ranked Jiangsu Dragons (9-13) were defeated by ninth ranked Fujian (12-10) 121-109 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Fujian. Jiangsu Dragons was better in second period 29-26. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Fujian shot 60.6 percent from the field and made 24-of-31 free shots (77.4 percent) during the game. Fujian forced 23 Jiangsu Dragons turnovers. It was a great shooting night for Fujian especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. International Zhelin Wang (215-94) fired 35 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) for the winners. American guard Delonte West (192-83, college: St.Joseph's) chipped in a double-double by scoring 29 points and 11 assists. Fujian's coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American power forward Jackson Vroman (208-81, college: Iowa St.) produced a double-double by scoring 24 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international swingman Da Meng (196-82) added 21 points respectively for lost side. Four Fujian and five Jiangsu Dragons players scored in double figures. Fujian moved-up to eighth place. Jiangsu Dragons at the other side keep the twelfth position with 13 games lost. Fujian will face Bayi Rockets (#16) in Ningbo in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Jiangsu Dragons will play at home against Shanghai Sharks (#4) and hope to win that game.
