Regular Season Round 22: Beijing Ducks - Bayi R. 115-87

No shocking result in a game when third ranked Beijing Ducks (16-6) smashed at home 15th ranked Bayi Rockets (6-16) 115-87 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Beijing Ducks. Bayi Rockets was better in fourth quarter 31-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Bayi Rockets 43-27 including a 35-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Beijing Ducks shot the lights out from three sinking 18 long-distance shots on high 56.3 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Bayi Rockets' players. International Yue Sun (206-85) fired 25 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) for the winners. American swingman Damien Wilkins (201-80, college: Georgia, agency: Priority Sports) chipped in 19 points and 4 assists (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Beijing Ducks' coach LuLei Min felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international center ZhongHao Xu (212-90) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international forward Lehei De (208-87) added 16 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four Beijing Ducks and five Bayi Rockets players scored in double figures. Beijing Ducks maintains third position with 16-6 record having just three points less than leader Guangdong ST. Bayi Rockets at the other side dropped to the sixteenth place with 16 games lost. Beijing Ducks will face Zhejiang Guangsha Lions (#7) in Hangzhou in the next round. Bayi Rockets will play at home against Fujian (#8) and hope to win that game.
