Not a big story in a game in Reykjavik where 12th ranked Valur (1-11) was rolled over by seventh ranked Haukar (7-5) 92-60 on Thursday. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Haukar made 9 blocks. The best player for the winners was American forward Terrence Watson (200-87, college: Ball St.) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points, 17 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Emil Barja (192-91) chipped in 13 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Haukar players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Chris Woods (195-89, college: Pfeiffer) who recorded a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds and guard Oddur Petursson (190-93) added 15 points respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Haukar moved-up to sixth place. Valur lost sixth consecutive game. Valur at the other side, also newcomer in the league, stay at the bottom position with 11 games lost. Haukar will meet higher ranked Grindavik (#3) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Valur will play against Njardvik (#4) in Njardvik and hope to win that game.
