Another interesting game was again a derby between two local teams from Doha: Al Sadd (#2) and Qatar Sports Club (#10). Qatar Sports Club was smashed at home by 31 points 68-99. Al Sadd dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Qatar Sports Club's 44. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Qatar Sports Club's players. The best player for the winners was Sierra Leonean-American swingman Alpha Bangura (197-80, college: St.John's, agency: Interperformances) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. International swingman Khalid Suliman (198-87) chipped in 24 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Four Al Sadd players scored in double figures. American swingman Chauncey Leslie (183-81, college: Iowa) produced 24 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and his fellow American import guard Melquan Bolding (190-88, college: Fair Dickinson) added 15 points and 10 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Al Sadd have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 12-3 record behind leader Al Rayyan. Qatar Sports Club lost fourth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with 14 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
