Regular Season Round 13: Elitzur Ramla - Ironi Nahariya 64-91

There was no surprise when 12th ranked Elitzur Ramla (4-9) was crushed at home by second ranked Ironi Nahariya (11-2) 91-64 on Thursday. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 11-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 91-64. Ironi Nahariya dominated on the defensive end, holding Elitzur Ramla to just 3 points in third quarter. They made 18-of-18 free shots (100 percent !!!) during the game. Ironi Nahariya forced 22 Elitzur Ramla turnovers and outrebounded them 35-23 including 22 on the defensive glass. American guard Nate Miller (193-87, college: Bowling Green, agency: KMG Sports Management) stepped up and scored 26 points and 4 steals for the winners and center Anton Shoutvin (206-89) chipped in 13 points and 9 rebounds. Four Ironi Nahariya players scored in double figures. Ironi Nahariya's coach Shay Minister felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side swingman Gur Porat (197-79) responded with 16 points and American guard Vernon Teel (193-87, college: Loyola Mary, agency: Alti Sport) scored 12 points. Ironi Nahariya have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Hapoel Kazrin. Elitzur Ramla lost third consecutive game. They keep the twelfth place with nine games lost. They share the position with Macc.B.Yaakov. Ironi Nahariya will meet Hapoel Migd.H. (#7) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Elitzur Ramla will play against Hod Hasharon (#14) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
