Regular Season Round 16: Saskatchewan - Victoria 46-55

Date: January 10, 2014
And what about another game where Vikies (#1) beat Huskies 55-46 on the road. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Huskies. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Huskies won fourth quarter 14-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Vikies forced 21 Huskies turnovers. It was a very good performance for American swingman Terrell Evans (193) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds. Center Chris McLaughlin (208) contributed with 6 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. American forward Dadrian Collins (198, college: Howard) replied with 15 points and 9 rebounds and guard Ben Baker (191) added 4 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Huskies. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Vikies maintains first position with 10-1 record, which they share with Ryerson and Alberta. Huskies at the other side keep the second place with two games lost. Vikies' next round opponent will be league's leader Golden Bears in Edmonton, AB and it will be for sure the game of the week. Huskies will play on the road against Thunderbirds in Vancouver, BC and hope to win that game.
