Regular Season Round 16: Waterloo - Lakehead 48-76

Date: January 10, 2014
Not a big story in a game in Waterloo, ON where bottom-ranked Warriors (0-10) were rolled over by fourth ranked Thunderwolves (4-7) 76-48 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Thunderwolves. Warriors was better in second period 15-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Warriors 34-18 including 24 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Dwayne Harvey (178) who helped to win the game recording 13 points and 5 rebounds and forward Igor Lebov (197-90, college: Franklin Pierce) who added 15 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Four Thunderwolves players scored in double figures. At the losing side guard Jaspreet Gill (188-91) responded with 12 points and 5 rebounds and guard Wayne Bridge (190-90) scored 7 points and 5 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Thunderwolves maintains fourth position with 4-7 record, which they share with UBC and UNBC. Loser Warriors still closes the standings with ten games lost. Thunderwolves will have a break next round. Warriors will play again on the road against Thunderwolves (#4) in Thunder Bay, ON and hope to get finally their first victory.
