Regular Season Round 16: Ryerson - Queen's 81-61

Date: January 10, 2014
Not a big story in a game in Toronto, ON where 5th ranked Golden Gaels (6-5) were rolled over by second ranked Rams (10-1) 81-61 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Rams. Golden Gaels was better in third quarter 24-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Rams forced 21 Golden Gaels turnovers. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Rams made 8 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international point guard Jahmal Jones (183-91) who helped to win the game recording 31 points and guard Aaron Best (193) who added 15 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side forward Nikola Misljencevic (196) responded with 19 points and guard Sukhpreet Singh (188) scored 14 points. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Rams have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Victoria and Alberta. Loser Golden Gaels dropped to the second place with five games lost. Rams' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Toronto, ON to the arena Lions.
