Not a big story in a game when 16th ranked Bayi Rockets (6-17) lost to eighth ranked Fujian (13-10) in Ningbo 100-117 on Friday. The game without a history. Fujian led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 86 of its points in the paint compared to Bayi Rockets' 60. They outrebounded Bayi Rockets 43-30 including 16 on the offensive glass. Fujian looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was an exceptional evening for international swingman TaiLong Zhao (193-90) who led the winners and scored 29 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. International Zhelin Wang (215-94) accounted for 26 points and 11 rebounds for the winning side. International swingman Bo Zhang (199-89) came up with 27 points and the former international center ZhongHao Xu (212-90) added 16 points and 11 rebounds respectively for Bayi Rockets in the defeat. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for Fujian. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with TianJin S. and Guangsha L. Bayi Rockets lost their third game in a row. They keep the sixteenth position with 17 games lost. Fujian will meet at home Zhejiang Guangsha Lions (#6) in the next round. Bayi Rockets will play against Shanghai Sharks (#5) and hope to secure a win.
