Regular Season Round 23: Shanxi Zh. - Sichuan BW 99-100

Important game to mention about took place in Taiyuan. Fourteenth ranked Sichuan BW (9-14) saved a 1-point victory on the road edging 17th ranked Shanxi Zhongyu (5-18) 100-99 on Friday evening. Shanxi Zhongyu was ahead by 7 points after three quarters before a 30-22 charge of Sichuan BW, which allowed them to win the game. They made 19-of-25 charity shots (76.0 percent) during the game. Shanxi Zhongyu was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for Nigerian-American guard Michael Efevberha (193-84, college: CS Northridge) who led his team to a victory scoring 37 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!). American D.J. White (206-86, college: Indiana) helped adding 27 points and 9 rebounds. American swingman Marcus Williams (200-86, college: Arizona, agency: Interperformances) responded with 34 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds and the other American import forward Charles Gaines (201-81, college: S.Mississippi) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds. Four Shanxi Zhongyu players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Sichuan BW moved-up to thirteenth place. Shanxi Zhongyu lost their third game in a row. They keep the seventeenth position with 18 games lost. Sichuan BW will play against Jilin Tigers (#15) in Changchun in the next round. Shanxi Zhongyu will play at home against Qingdao Eagles and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
