Not a big story in a game in Antigonish where 6th ranked St.Francis X. (3-6) was defeated by top-ranked Huskies (9-0) 82-75 on Friday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But St.Francis X. won third quarter 21-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was forward Rachelle Coward (183-90, college: Charleston So.) who scored 22 points. The former international guard Justine Colley (175-91) chipped in 10 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists. Forward Lia St.Pierre (183) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Vanessa Pickard (180-92) added 20 points respectively for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Huskies have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 9-0 record. Loser St.Francis X. keeps the sixth place with six games lost. Huskies will face Panthers (#4) in Charlottetown in the next round.
