Regular Season Round 14: UQAM - Concordia 54-67
Date: January 10, 2014
We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Montreal where second-ranked Citadins (3-2) were defeated by third ranked Concordia (3-2) 67-54 on Friday. The guests trailed by 6 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 67-54. Concordia forced 23 Citadins turnovers. The best player for the winners was center Marilyse Roy-Viau (180) who scored 16 points and 8 rebounds. Guard Kaylah Barrett (173) chipped in 12 points and 4 assists. Center Camille Michaud (183) produced 16 points and 6 rebounds and center Jessica Lubin added 10 points and 10 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Citadins' coach let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Concordia moved-up to second place, which they share with UQAM. Concordia will have a break next round. Citadins' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face again at home their local rival from Montreal Concordia.
