Regular Season Round 15: Spojnia - Astoria Bydg. 78-68

Bottom-ranked Spojnia managed to get a third victory, breaking the series of two consecutive loses on Saturday night. This time they won against twelfth-ranked Astoria Bydg. in Stargard 78-68. Astoria Bydg. was trailing by 7 points at halftime but managed to get 3-point lead after three quarters before a 22-9 charge of Spojnia, which allowed them to win the game. They dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Astoria Bydg.'s 24. It was a great evening for point guard Marcin Stoklosa (188-77) who led his team to a victory scoring 17 points and 9 assists. point guard Michal Kwiatkowski (189-92, agency: Promotex) helped adding 23 points. Four Spojnia players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Marcin Kowalewski (200-86) with 18 points and guard Piotr Robak (192-91) scored 10 points. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Spojnia (3-12) moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Astoria Bydg. Astoria Bydg. lost their seventh game in a row. Spojnia will meet higher ranked Kutno (#4) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Astoria Bydg. will play against Wilki Morskie (#6) and hope to secure a win.
