No shocking result in a game when second ranked GTK Gliwice (13-1) crushed on the road 11th ranked Cieszyn (2-12) 101-58 on Saturday. The game without a history. GTK Gliwice led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Cieszyn's 42. GTK Gliwice forced 24 Cieszyn turnovers and outrebounded them 39-25 including 30 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Cieszyn's players. Artur Donigiewicz (190-84) orchestrated the victory by scoring 16 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Forward Lukasz Ochodek (197-82) contributed with 15 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals for the winners. Four GTK Gliwice players scored in double figures. Center Tomasz Czajkowski (204-82) replied with 11 points and 8 rebounds and power forward Mateusz Tomica (196-92) added 10 points in the effort for Cieszyn. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. GTK Gliwice have an impressive five-game winning streak. They keep a position of Group B leader, which they share with GKS Tychy. Cieszyn lost sixth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the eleventh place with 12 games lost. GTK Gliwice will face AZS Pol.Cz-wa (#10) in Czestochowa in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Cieszyn will play on the road against Sudety in Jelenia Gora and hope to win that game.
