Regular Season Round 15: Flamengo - Mogi das Cruzes 92-76
Date: January 11, 2014
Rather predictable result in Rio de Janeiro where fourth ranked Flamengo (9-3) defeated 7th ranked Mogi (7-8) 92-76. The game was mostly controlled by Flamengo. Mogi was better in fourth quarter 29-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Flamengo players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Mogi's players. It was a good game for the former international Marcelo Magalhaes (201-75, agency: Interperformances) who led his team to a victory with 35 points (!!!). American center Jerome Meyinsse (206-88, college: Virginia) contributed with 22 points and 7 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) for the winners. Nigerian-American power forward Jefferson Agba (209-80, college: Embry Riddle) answered with 21 points and 5 rebounds and power forward Thomas Gehrke (203-82, college: UTEP) added 12 points in the effort for Mogi. Four Mogi players scored in double figures. Mogi's coach rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Flamengo have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain fourth place with 9-3 record. Mogi at the other side dropped to the tenth position with eight games lost.
