Regular Season Round 14: Suchy Las - GTK Gdynia 83-70

There was a small surprise when tenth ranked Suchy Las (5-9) beat at home 7th ranked GTK Gdynia (6-6) 83-70 on Saturday. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when Suchy Las's pressure prevailed and they won that period 18-12 extending their advantage to 13 points. Suchy Las forced 23 GTK Gdynia turnovers. Center Michal Marek (208-96) orchestrated the victory by scoring 9 points and 13 rebounds. Guard Albert Krawiec (183-94) contributed with 10 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. The former international center Tomasz Cielebak (205-76, college: Marist) replied with 13 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and swingman Aleksander Lebiedzinski (200-93) added 12 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for GTK Gdynia. Four GTK Gdynia players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Suchy Las moved-up to ninth place in Group A. Loser GTK Gdynia dropped to the sixth position with six games lost. Suchy Las will face higher ranked AZS UMK Torun (#8) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
