Regular Season Round 14: Ourense - Burgos 74-75

Twelfth-ranked Ourense (4-10) gave a tough game to sixth ranked Burgos (9-5) on Saturday. The visitors from Burgos managed to secure only one-point victory 75-74. However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Ourense. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 23-20. But Ourense won second period 21-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Burgos made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was Josep Ortega (201-84) who scored 27 points and 8 rebounds. American power forward Taylor Coppenrath (205-81, college: Vermont) chipped in 12 points and 6 rebounds. American center Jared Carter (216-86, college: Kentucky) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points, 11 rebounds and 4 blocks and his fellow American import swingman Riley Luettgerodt (196-85, college: Hawaii, agency: I.D.S. Law) added 17 points respectively for the hosts. Four Ourense players scored in double figures. Burgos moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Oviedo and Coruna. Loser Ourense keeps the twelfth position with ten games lost. Burgos will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Ourense will play again against Burgos (#4) and hope to secure a win.
