Regular Season Round 14: Askatuak - Palma 45-75

Date: January 11, 2014
No shocking result in a game when seventh ranked Palma (7-6) crushed bottom-ranked Askatuak (2-11) in San Sebastian 75-45 on Saturday. The game without a history. Palma led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. American power forward Jason Blair (201-79, college: San Diego) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds. The other American import point guard John DiBartolomeo (183-91, college: Rochester, agency: Duran International) contributed with 16 points for the winners. DiBartolomeo is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Palma players scored in double figures. Palma's coach felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Irish forward Devin Grimes (198, college: Roberts Wesleyan, agency: Duran International) replied with 9 points and 9 rebounds and Imanol Millares (-85) added 5 points in the effort for Askatuak. Palma moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Castello and Avila. Askatuak lost third consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 11 games lost. Palma will face Cambados (#9) at home in the next round. Askatuak will play against the league's second-placed Prat (#2) and hope to win that game.
