Everything went according to plan when fifth ranked Alba Chorzow (9-5) outplayed at home 9th ranked Mickiewicz (5-9) 94-73 on Saturday. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when Alba Chorzow's pressure prevailed and they won that period 27-13 extending their advantage to 21 points. Alba Chorzow had a 31-20 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Mickiewicz was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Swingman Damian Tokarski (193-88) orchestrated the victory by scoring 27 points and 5 rebounds. Power forward Marcin Weselak (202-79) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. Power forward Dawid Kolakowski (207-93) replied with 6 points and 15 rebounds and point guard Pawel Jurczynski (183-91) added 18 points in the effort for Mickiewicz. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Alba Chorzow moved-up to fourth place in Group B, which they share with Pogon Prudnik. Loser Mickiewicz keeps the ninth position with nine games lost. Alba Chorzow will face Gimbasket Wroclaw (#12) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Mickiewicz will play against Nysa Klodzko and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
