Important game to mention about took place in Bauru. Ninth ranked Unitri (7-6) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging 15th ranked Paschoalotto/Bauru (3-8) 76-74 on Saturday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 22-16. But Paschoalotto/Bauru won second period 23-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Unitri won last quarter 18-17. It was an exceptional evening for the former international Lucas Cipolini (206-86, college: BYU-Hawaii) who led the winners and scored 20 points. The former international point guard Valtinho Silva (187-77) accounted for 11 points and 7 assists for the winning side. The former international power forward Murilo Becker (210-83) came up with 22 points and 9 rebounds and point guard Ricardo Fischer (185-91) added 13 points and 7 assists respectively for Paschoalotto/Bauru in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Unitri moved-up to sixth place, which they share with S.Jose/Unimed and Vivo/Franca. Paschoalotto/Bauru lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the sixteenth position with eight games lost. Unitri will play against league's leader Winner/Limeira on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Paschoalotto/Bauru will play against Vivo/Franca (#6) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
