Regular Season Round 23: Chalons-Reims - Fos Ouest 50-63

Leading Chalons-Reims (15-7) recorded its seventh loss at the home court. Hosts were defeated by seventh ranked Fos Ouest (13-10) 63-50. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Chalons-Reims. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when Fos Ouest's pressure prevailed and they won that period 15-9 extending their advantage to 13 points. Fos Ouest forced 20 Chalons-Reims turnovers. It was a great evening for point guard Theo Leon (180-92) who led his team to a victory scoring 9 points and 7 rebounds. Naturalized Senegalese power forward Mamadou Dia (201-78) helped adding 15 points. American forward Ronald Slay (203-81, college: Tennessee, agency: David Lee services) responded with 13 points and 7 rebounds and the former international power forward Sacha Giffa (202-77) scored 6 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Fos Ouest moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Le Portel. Chalons-Reims at the other side dropped to the second position with seven games lost. They share it with Bourg. Fos Ouest will play against Souffelweyersheim (#14) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Chalons-Reims will play against Le Portel (#7) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
