Regular Season Round 15: Al Jaysh - Al Arabi 92-64

The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Doha: Al Jaysh (#3) and Al Arabi (#5). Al Jaysh (11-4) crushed visiting Al Arabi (10-5) by 28 points 92-64. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Al Arabi. Al Jaysh had a 34-19 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was a good game for American forward Shawn Taggart (207-85, college: Memphis) who led his team to a victory with 25 points and 8 rebounds. Naturalized Lebanese point guard Fadi Hani Abilmoni (184) contributed with 19 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Al Jaysh's coach Dragoslav Milovanovic felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Serbian-FYR Macedonian forward Nenad Zivcevic (204-87) answered with 17 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and American-Nigerian forward Kayode Ayeni (196-87, college: St.Francis, NY) added 13 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Al Arabi. Five Al Jaysh and four Al Arabi players scored in double figures. Al Jaysh have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain third place with 11-4 record having just three points less than leader Al Rayyan, which they share with Al Gharafa. Al Arabi at the other side keeps the fifth position with five games lost. Al Jaysh's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Doha Al Sadd.
