Regular Season Round 17: Eskinstuna - Telge 45-62

Bottom-ranked Eskinstuna (0-14) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 62-45 loss to sixth ranked Telge (6-6) in Eskilstuna. It looked good early as Eskinstuna took an 2-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Telge had a 15-6 second period charge getting the lead and Eskinstuna was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 45-62. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Eskinstuna to just 3 points in third quarter. Telge made 16-of-21 charity shots (76.2 percent) during the game. They also forced 28 Eskinstuna turnovers. American guard Adrienne Webb (175-90, college: LSU) orchestrated the victory by scoring 18 points. The former international power forward Jennifer Stjarnstrom (187-87, college: Drexel) contributed with 7 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Telge's coach Hanna Bouldwin allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American point guard Natasha Vital (173-88, college: California) answered with 21 points and 4 assists and center Helena Lundberg (183-89) added 2 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Eskinstuna. Telge moved-up to fifth place. Newly promoted Eskinstuna still closes the standings with 14 games lost. Telge will play against IK Eos (#8) in Lund in the next round. Eskinstuna will have a break next round.
