Regular Season Round 15: PeKa - HoNsU 85-72

An interesting game for Peli-Karhut (11-2) which hosted in Kotka 4th placed HoNsU (7-7). Second ranked Peli-Karhut managed to get a 13-point victory 85-72. It was a good game for American guard Krystal Vaughn (185-86, college: VCU, agency: LBM Management) who led her team to a victory with 20 points and 8 rebounds. The former international point guard Reetta Piipari (170-80, college: Xavier) contributed with 21 points and 6 assists for the winners. Peli-Karhut's coach Seppo Kurki used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Power forward Titta-Riina Lepisto (184-90) answered with 15 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and American guard Nikki Speed (173-90, college: Rutgers) added 12 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for HoNsU. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Peli-Karhut have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain second place with 11-2 record having four points less than leader Catz. HoNsU at the other side keeps the fourth position with seven games lost. Peli-Karhut are looking forward to face Aanekosken (#5) in Aanekoski in the next round. HoNsU will play at home against Forssan Alku and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
