Regular Season Round 11: Racing - Sparta 60-67

Bottom-ranked Racing is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their 11th consecutive match to sixth ranked Sparta (4-7) 67-60. Racing was ahead by 5 points after three quarters before a 21-9 charge of Sparta, which allowed them to win the game. They also forced 23 Racing turnovers. Strangely Racing outrebounded Sparta 40-26 including a 30-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for guard Carole Sitz (174-85, college: Elon) who led her team to a victory scoring 21 points and 5 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). Power forward Bracey Ulin (188-85) helped adding 10 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 6 steals. American Earlysia Marchbanks (180, college: Oregon St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 14 rebounds and the other American import power forward Celeste Stevenson (180-82, college: W.Texas A&M) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Sparta maintains sixth place with 4-7 record. Racing at the other side still closes the standings with 11 games lost. Sparta will play against Amicale (#7) in Steinsel in the next round. Racing will play on the road against Etzella in Ettelbruck and hopes to get finally their first victory.
