Rather expected game when 6th ranked BrGU COR Victoria (1-8) was defeated on the road by fourth ranked Sozh Gomel (5-4) 89-83. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 31-22. But BrGU COR Victoria won third quarter 24-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Sozh Gomel forced 21 BrGU COR Victoria turnovers and outrebounded them 44-33 including 18 on the offensive glass. BrGU COR Victoria was plagued by 30 personal fouls down the stretch. Forward Olga Kopylova (187-82) nailed a double-double by scoring 21 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and guard Ekaterina Charikova (174-82) accounted for 18 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals. Forward Natalia Rusak (180-84) came up with 22 points and 6 assists and guard Yuliya Shcharbakova (173-85) added 19 points and 4 assists respectively for BrGU COR Victoria in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. BrGU COR Victoria's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Sozh Gomel maintains fourth place with 5-4 record. BrGU COR Victoria lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with eight games lost. Sozh Gomel will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. BrGU COR Victoria will play at home against Tsmoki-Minsk (#3) to get more than just one victory in their record.
