Regular Season Round 15: Windsor - McMaster 83-44
Date: January 11, 2014
Very expected game when 5th ranked McMaster (9-5) was smashed by first ranked Lancers (13-1) in Windsor 83-44 on Saturday. The game without a history. Lancers led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to McMaster's 32. They outrebounded McMaster 47-28 including a 22-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. Lancers looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by McMaster's players. It was a good game for international guard Korissa Williams (175-92) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists. French forward Jessica Clemencon (190-89) contributed with 15 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Four Lancers players scored in double figures. Guard Vanessa Bonomo (160) answered with 10 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and American forward Hailey Milligan (190-89, college: Canisius) added 9 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for McMaster. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Lancers have an impressive series of thirteen victories in a row. They maintain first place with 13-1 record. Loser McMaster keeps the fifth position with five games lost. Lancers will face Guelph (#7) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. McMaster will play against Waterloo and hope to win that game.
