There was no surprise in Uppsala where 8th ranked Visby Ladies (3-10) were defeated by second ranked Sallen (10-3) 70-57. The game was mostly controlled by Sallen. Visby Ladies was better in fourth quarter 14-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Sallen forced 20 Visby Ladies turnovers. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. American point guard Eureka Brooks (170-86, college: Florida) orchestrated the victory by scoring 24 points and 5 rebounds. The former international center Katarina Andersson (191-83) contributed with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Four Sallen players scored in double figures. Sallen's coach Bo Eriksson used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard Yvonne Anderson (170-90, college: Texas) answered with 20 points and 5 steals and the other American import forward Nya Jordan (183, college: Michigan) added 16 points and 6 steals in the effort for Visby Ladies. Sallen maintains second place with 10-3 record having just three points less than leader Norrkoping. Visby Ladies lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth position with ten games lost. Sallen will play against Umea (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Visby Ladies will have a break next round.
