Regular Season Round 24: Sichuan BW - Jilin NE T. 124-116

Everything went according to plan when thirteenth ranked Sichuan BW (10-14) beat at home 15th ranked Jilin Tigers (7-17) 124-116 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 6-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 124-116. Sichuan BW looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Sichuan BW made 8 blocks. The best player for the winners was Nigerian-American guard Michael Efevberha (193-84, college: CS Northridge) who scored 34 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Iranian center Hamed Haddadi (218-85) chipped in a double-double by scoring 21 points, 12 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 blocks. Five Sichuan BW players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Leon Rodgers (201-80, college: N.Illinois) who recorded a double-double by scoring 43 points (!!!) and 14 rebounds and his fellow American import power forward Denzel Bowles (208-89, college: JMU) added 31 points and 14 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Sichuan BW have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Jiangsu D. Loser Jilin Tigers keep the fifteenth position with 17 games lost. Sichuan BW will meet at home bottom-ranked Qingdao Eagles (#18) in the next round where they are favorite. Jilin Tigers will play against Shandong Bulls and hope to secure a win.
