No shocking result in a game when seventh ranked Slask Wroclaw (7-7) beat 10th ranked Polpharma (3-11) in Starogard 81-69 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 11-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 81-69. Slask Wroclaw made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. Slask Wroclaw outrebounded Polpharma 37-23 including 23 on the defensive glass. American center Paul Miller (208-82, college: Wichita St.) orchestrated the victory by scoring 25 points and 5 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). The other American import point guard Danny Gibson (177-84, college: S.Indiana) contributed with 15 points and 4 assists for the winners. Slask Wroclaw's coach Jerzy Chudeusz allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American Kevin Johnson (201-84, college: Humboldt St., agency: Hart Sports Mngm) replied with 17 points and Serbian Nikola Jeftic (205-87) added 12 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Polpharma. Slask Wroclaw moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Rosa Radom. Loser Polpharma keeps the tenth position with 11 games lost. Slask Wroclaw will face Kotwica (#10) in Kolobrzeg in the next round. Polpharma will play on the road against Asseco in Gdynia and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
