Everything could happen in Reggio Emilia at the game between two tied teams. Both seventh ranked Trenkwalder RE and 9th ranked Air Avellino had identical 7-7 record. This time Trenkwalder RE used a home court advantage and outscored the opponent from Avellino 96-73 on Sunday night. The game was mostly controlled by Trenkwalder RE. Air Avellino managed to win fourth quarter 19-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Trenkwalder RE dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Air Avellino's 28. At the other side the best for losing team was American swingman Jeremy Richardson (201-84, college: Delta St.) who recorded 14 points and 6 rebounds and Slovenian point guard Jaka Lakovic (186-78) added 15 points respectively. Air Avellino's coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Trenkwalder RE maintains seventh place with 8-7 record, which they share with Umana VE. Loser Air Avellino keeps the ninth position with eight games lost. They share it with JuveCaserta and Granarolo BO. Trenkwalder RE will meet at home Cimberio Varese (#13) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Air Avellino will play against VL Pesaro (#16) and hope to secure a win.
