Regular Season Round 29: Hamamatsu P. - Aomori Watts 70-57

Very predictable result when third ranked Hamamatsu Phoenix (15-11) won against 8th ranked Aomori Watts (10-14) in Mikawa 70-57 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 9 points at the halftime before their 44-22 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. American guard Jermaine Dixon (191-87, college: Pittsburgh) nailed 20 points and 7 assists for the winning side and the former international guard Masahiro Masahiro (172-76) accounted for 8 points and 5 rebounds. Guyanese-American forward Gordon Klaiber (206-83, college: Fair Dickinson) came up with 16 points and 8 rebounds and guard Yuki Kitamuki (184-85) added 11 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Aomori Watts in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Hamamatsu Phoenix. They maintain third place with 15-11 record despite having the same number of points like the leader Akita NH. Aomori Watts lost their third game in a row. They keep the eighth position with 14 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
