Leader Familia Schio delivered the twelfth victory. This time they beat 9th ranked Cagliari CUS (4-9) 81-76. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Cagliari CUS won third quarter 20-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Familia Schio made 24-of-29 charity shots (82.8 percent) during the game. They also forced 24 Cagliari CUS turnovers. Strangely Cagliari CUS outrebounded Familia Schio 37-20 including 23 on the defensive glass. Cagliari CUS was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of French center Elodie Godin (191-85) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 8 rebounds. The former international forward Laura Macchi (188-79) contributed with 15 points for the winners. Four Familia Schio players scored in double figures. American forward Jennifer Hailey (190-90, college: Charlotte) answered with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 17 rebounds and international guard Cinzia Arioli (178-84) added 24 points (made all of her eight free throws) in the effort for Cagliari CUS. Familia Schio (12-1) have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place, which they share with Ragusa. Cagliari CUS lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth position with nine games lost. They share it with Orvieto. Familia Schio will play against Venezia (#6) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Cagliari CUS will play against the league's second-placed Ragusa and hopes to get back on the winning track.
