No shocking result in a game when third ranked Maquinaria Ensino (8-1) crushed 6th ranked ADBA (4-5) in Lugo 70-45 on Sunday. The game without a history. Maquinaria Ensino led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding ADBA to just 5 points in fourth quarter. Maquinaria Ensino held ADBA to an opponent 24.2 percent shooting from the field compared to 43.9 percent accuracy of the winners. Maquinaria Ensino forced 28 ADBA turnovers and outrebounded them 59-29 including a 40-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for power forward Veronica Matoso (185-88, agency: Josep and Nicolas) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 19 rebounds. The former international forward Mireia Navarrete (184-80) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. Four Maquinaria Ensino players scored in double figures. Maquinaria Ensino's coach felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Portuguese power forward Debora Escorcio (186-84) answered with 11 points and 9 rebounds and power forward Lara Fernandez (180-87) added 6 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for ADBA. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Maquinaria Ensino. They keep a position of Group A leader, which they share with Ferrol and Al-Qazeres. ADBA lost their third game in a row. They keep the sixth place with five games lost. Maquinaria Ensino will face Oviedo (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. ADBA will play against Cafe Barco (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
