The most surprising game was another loss of top-ranked CB Guadalajara (9-4) on the court of twelfth ranked Azpeitia on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by Azpeitia 70-56. The hosts trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 41-26 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Azpeitia outrebounded CB Guadalajara 37-23 including 26 on the defensive glass. Lithuanian center Gediminas Zyle (210-88) orchestrated the victory by scoring 17 points and 5 rebounds. Nigerian-American forward Ike Okoye (206-86, college: Boise St.) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Naturalized Argentinian forward Maximiliano Sole (198-88) replied with 14 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and power forward Alvaro Martin (205-91) added 12 points in the effort for CB Guadalajara. Four CB Guadalajara players scored in double figures. CB Guadalajara's coach rotated ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Azpeitia (5-8) moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Araberri and Zornotza. CB Guadalajara at the other side still keeps top position with four games lost. They share it with Fuenlabrada and Prat. Azpeitia is looking forward to face higher ranked Castello (#7) in Castellon in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. CB Guadalajara will play at home against Zornotza (#12) and is hoping to win this game.
