Bottom-ranked Brasilia (0-4) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 106-48 loss to third ranked Ourinhos (2-2) in Brasilia. The game without a history. Ourinhos led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Brasilia's 22 and made 21-of-24 charity shots (87.5 percent) during the game. Ourinhos forced 28 Brasilia turnovers and outrebounded them 56-28 including a 24-13 advantage in offensive rebounds. The winners were led by international center Fernanda Bibiano (193-85) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 19 points and 15 rebounds and the former international point guard Joice Rodrigues (168-86) supported her with 17 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Five Ourinhos players scored in double figures. Even 17 points by forward Veronica Duarte (173-85) did not help to save the game for Brasilia. Kiara Soares (-92) added 8 points and 4 steals for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Despite that victory Ourinhos went down to fourth position due to points difference. Newly promoted Brasilia still closes the standings with four games lost. Ourinhos' next round opponent will be Sao Jose (#6) at home. Brasilia will play against the league's leader Recife and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
