Regular Season Round 15: Baerum Basket - Asker Aliens 86-80

The game between third ranked Asker Aliens (7-4) and fourth ranked Baerum Basket (8-3) was the most important one in the last round on Wednesday night. Asker Aliens were defeated by Baerum Basket in a tough game in Bekkestua 80-86. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Asker Aliens. It was a key game for the second position in the league. The game without a history. Baerum Basket led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. 24 personal fouls committed by Asker Aliens helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a great evening for American forward Austin Steed (203-88, college: E.Carolina) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds. point guard Stian Mjos (183-89) helped adding 23 points and 6 assists. The best for the losing side was DR Congolese power forward Djo Yele (203-82) with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 rebounds and guard Anders Stien (195-90) scored 15 points and 7 assists. Five Baerum Basket and four Asker Aliens players scored in double figures. Asker Aliens' coach Jakob Jorgensen rotated twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Defending champion moved-up to second place. Asker Aliens at the other side dropped to the fourth position with four games lost. They share it with Tromso. Baerum Basket will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Asker Aliens will play on the road against Gimle BBK (#3) in Bergen and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
