There was no surprise in Waterloo, ON where 7th ranked Badgers (2-11) were defeated by third ranked Golden Hawks (6-7) 98-88. The game was mostly controlled by Golden Hawks. Badgers was better in third quarter 19-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 20-of-21 charity shots (95.2 percent) during the game. Golden Hawks players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. 24 personal fouls committed by Badgers helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Guard Maxwell Allin (193) notched a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds to lead the effort and guard Jamar Forde (190) supported him with 19 points and 7 rebounds. Golden Hawks' coach Peter Campbell used entire bench saving starting five for next games. Even a double-double of 31 points, 14 rebounds and 5 blocks by forward Dani Elgadi (201) did not help to save the game for Badgers. Forward Tshing Kasamba (196) added 29 points and 15 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Golden Hawks maintains third position with 6-7 record having three points less than leader McMaster. Badgers lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with 11 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
