The game in Hangzhou was also quite interesting. 5th ranked Shanghai Sharks (16-9) played at the court of sixth ranked Zhejiang Guangsha Lions (15-10). Zhejiang Guangsha Lions managed to secure a 7-point victory 91-84 on Wednesday. Shanghai Sharks trailed by 11 points after 3 quarters before a 28-24 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 84-91 at the end of the game. The game was dominated by American players. point guard Jonathan Gibson (188-87, college: N.Mexico St., agency: Three Eye Sports) stepped up and scored 38 points (!!!) and 4 assists for the winners and center Chris Johnson (210-85, college: LSU) chipped in 16 points and 11 rebounds. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions' coach Fei Wang used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side guard Quincy Douby (190-84, college: Rutgers) responded with 30 points (made all of his eight free throws) and Darnell Jackson (203-85, college: Kansas) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 17 rebounds. Four Shanghai Sharks players scored in double figures. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions maintains sixth place with 15-10 record. Loser Shanghai Sharks keep the fifth position with nine games lost. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions will meet league's second-placed Xinjiang Flying Tige in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Shanghai Sharks will play against the league's leader Guandong Tigers and hope to secure a win.
