Regular Season Round 14: Ramat Hasharon - Maccabi Ashdod 70-75

An interesting game for Maccabi Ashdod (11-2) which played road game in Hasharon against 4th ranked Ramat Hasharon (7-5). Second ranked Maccabi Ashdod managed to get a 5-point victory 75-70. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Ramat Hasharon. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 75-70. Maccabi Ashdod looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American players dominated the game. Guard Candice Wiggins (180-87, college: Stanford) orchestrated the victory by scoring 21 points and 6 rebounds. Forward Tiffany Jackson (191-85, college: Texas) contributed with 22 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Center Shamela Hampton (191-87, college: UNLV) replied with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 11 rebounds (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field) and swingman Megan Frazee (193-87, college: Liberty) added 25 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field) in the effort for Ramat Hasharon. Maccabi Ashdod have an impressive nine-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader. Ramat Hasharon at the other side keeps the fourth place with five games lost. Maccabi Ashdod are looking forward to face Elitzur Netanya (#8) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Ramat Hasharon will play against Maccabi Ramat Hen (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
