Regular Season Round 33: Gansos - Soles 79-95

Not a big story in a game when 14th ranked Gansos (2-29) lost to third ranked Soles (21-8) in Ciudad de Mexico 79-95 on Thursday. Soles shot 62.5 percent from the field. It was a great shooting night for Soles especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.1 percentage. American players dominated the game. Guard Zach Graham (198-89, college: Mississippi) nailed 25 points for the winning side and forward Eugene Phelps (198-90, college: Long Beach St.) accounted for 16 points and 6 rebounds. CamRon Clay (203-82) came up with 22 points and 9 rebounds and point guard Ryan McCoy (183-87, college: La-Lafayette) added 17 points respectively for Gansos in the defeat. Four Gansos players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Soles have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain third place with 21-8 record having five points less than leader Pioneros. Gansos lost third consecutive game. They stay dead last with 29 lost games. Soles will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Gansos will play again against Soles (#3) and hope to secure a win.
