Regular Season Round 33: Lechugueros - Fuerza Regia 88-100

No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Fuerza Regia (18-11) beat 12th ranked Lechugueros (8-23) in Leon 100-88 on Thursday. The game was mostly controlled by Fuerza Regia. Lechugueros managed to win fourth quarter 26-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Fuerza Regia forced 21 Lechugueros turnovers. They shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 57.1 percentage. Fuerza Regia looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Cuban point guard Reynaldo Garcia (187-90) nailed 15 points, 6 assists and 7 steals for the winning side and the former international guard Gabriel Giron (190-88) accounted for 21 points. Fuerza Regia's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard Maurice Riddick (188-79, college: Beth.-Cookman) came up with 31 points and Senegalese center Babacar Camara (211-81, college: CS Fullerton) added 19 points and 9 rebounds respectively for Lechugueros in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Fuerza Regia maintains fifth place with 18-11 record. Lechugueros lost twelfth consecutive game. They keep the twelfth position with 23 games lost. Fuerza Regia will meet Panteras (#10) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Lechugueros will play against Toros and hope to secure a win.
