Very expected game in Rishon Le-Zion where 11th ranked Maccabi Rishon (4-11) was defeated by third ranked Hapoel Tel-Aviv (10-5) 75-63. The game without a history. Hapoel Tel-Aviv led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Americans were the main players on the court. Guard Carlon Brown (195-89, college: Colorado) notched 28 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists to lead the effort and power forward Josh Owens (203-88, college: Stanford) supported him with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Four Hapoel Tel-Aviv players scored in double figures. Even 17 points and 9 rebounds by forward Tasmin Mitchell (201-86, college: LSU) did not help to save the game for Maccabi Rishon. Power forward James Thomas (205-80, college: Texas) added 7 points and 12 rebounds for the hosts. Hapoel Tel-Aviv maintains third position with 10-5 record having just two points less than leader Hapoel J-M. Maccabi Rishon lost third consecutive game. They keep the eleventh place with 11 games lost. Hapoel Tel-Aviv will play against Hapoel Holon (#6) at home in the next round. Maccabi Rishon will play against the league's leader Hapoel Jerusalem (#1) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
