Everything went according to plan in Abbotsford where first ranked Cascades (11-3) outscored 4th placed TRU (7-7) 75-41 on Friday. The game without a history. Cascades led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding TRU to just 3 points in first quarter. Cascades held TRU to an opponent 19.7 percent shooting from the field compared to 40.0 percent accuracy of the winners. Cascades forced 28 TRU turnovers. Point guard Aieisha Luyken (173) stepped up and scored 16 points for the winners and forward Nicole Wierks (178) chipped in 11 points and 7 assists. Four Cascades players scored in double figures. Cascades' coach Al Tuchscherer felt very confident using entire bench saving starting five for next games. Forward Kassie Colonna (188) responded with 11 points and guard Sarah Malate (165) scored 10 points. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Cascades. They maintain first place with 11-3 record, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser TRU keeps the fourth position with seven games lost. Cascades will face again TRU (#4) in Kamloops in the next round.
