Regular Season Round 19: Victoria - UNBC 85-57

Date: January 17, 2014
Not a big story in a game when 7th ranked Timberwolves (4-8) were outscored by first ranked Vikies (11-2) in Victoria, BC 85-57 on Friday. The hosts trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 12-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 85-57. It was a very good performance for American swingman Terrell Evans (193) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds. Center Chris McLaughlin (208) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Five Vikies players scored in double figures. Guard Charles Barton (193) answered with 21 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Jeff Chu (183) added 4 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Timberwolves. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Vikies maintains first place with 11-2 record, which they share with Alberta and Ryerson. Loser Timberwolves keep the seventh position with eight games lost. Vikies will face again Timberwolves (#7) in Prince George, BC in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game.
